2nd Annual Spring Soiree
    On Thursday, May 25, we held the 2nd Annual SMC Spring Soiree and REALTOR/Builder Expo at The Millstone at Adam's Pond.   Table-top displays from member companies were located throughout the Millstone.  Thanks to all of our exhibiting companies for their participation and to all of the members who attended.

 

 

SMC Members mingled on the porch at The Millstone at Adam's Pond.  Despite a thunderstorm at the beginning of the evening, members and exhibitors had a great time.

  SMC Spring Cruise  
  Members of the Sales & Marketing Council and their guests enjoyed a Spring Cruise on the Southern Patriot on April 27, 2006.  Over 80 members enjoyed a "Floating Mexican Fiesta" of food and beverages and a two-hour cruise around Lake Murray as the sun was setting.  What a great way to end a long week!  Thanks to everyone who participated.      
          
 
 
  SMC March Quarterly Meeting  
        On Thursday, March 23rd, the Sales & Marketing Council welcomed 150 members and guests to our first meeting of 2006. The “Marketing Minute”, presented by Marlene Sheard, spotlighted the effectiveness of billboard advertising and SMC Board members recruited volunteers for their respective committees for the year.  We were honored to welcome special guest speaker, Mayor Bob Coble, who spoke on the Renaissance of Columbia and the positive impact the growth and infrastructure will have on the economy of our capital city.  As always, the generosity of the membership was evident by raising over $795 during Happy Dollar Time for St. Lawrence Place.

  2nd Annual SMC Oyster Roast  
   

  We held our 2nd Annual Oyster Roast on Thursday, October 20 at Pine Island on Lake Murray.  Over 100 members and their guests turned out on this beautiful night to enjoy steamed oysters and Frank Clark's amazing seafood chowder.

  SMC After Hours  
 

   Thank You to Beazer Homes for sponsoring our SMC After Hours on Thursday, October 6th at The Villages At Lakeshore.  SMC members and guests enjoyed food and fellowship and got a first look at the new development.

 
        
 
 
  REALTOR Day at the Parade of Homes  
       On Wednesday, September 21st, the Sales & Marketing Council welcomed over 350 local real estate professionals to REALTOR Day at the 2005 Parade of Homes at QuailRidge Estates.  REALTORs were admitted free to the Parade with their business cards and were treated to a catered lunch.  This was our largest REALTOR Day ever!   
     
 

 

 
 
 
  SMC Quarterly Meeting (September, 2005)  
       Over 100 SMC members and guests attended the SMC’s September quarterly meeting on Thursday, September 22nd at Seawell’s.  We were very pleased to welcome two officers with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Captain Randy Scott and Lieutenant, who spoke to our group on safety issues in the real estate community.    
       Thanks to our generous members who donated money during Happy Dollar Time ~ we raised over $1,500 on behalf of the Sales & Marketing Council to donate towards Katrina Disaster Relief efforts.  Thank you SMC!  
 

 

 
     
     
 
 
  SMC Quarterly Meeting (June, 2005)  
       The Sales & Marketing Council welcomed featured speaker, Tammie Smoot with HomeBuilder.com, at the second quarterly meeting of the membership on Thursday, June 16th.  Members and guests enjoyed breakfast and were informed of a new website realtor.sceg.com, a website specially designed by SCE&G to help realtors inform their customers on the benefits of natural gas.   
 

     We also raised $798 to benefit St. Lawrence Place during Happy Dollar Time. Thank you to everyone who also donated canned good items for our project.

 
     
     
 
 
  2005 REALTOR/Builder "Spring Soiree"  
      Our very first REALTOR/Builder Expo was held Thursday, May 26 at The Millstone at Adam's Pond in Columbia.  Local builders set up booths for realtors to learn about their products and services, make contacts and hopefully build long-term work partnerships.  Food was catered by Southern Way, and we had a great time.  Thanks to everyone who participated!

  SMC After Hours - Hamlet at Canterbury- Lake Carolina  
     On Thursday, March 17 SMC Members were invited to the Hamlet at Canterbury subdivision of Lake Carolina for a St. Patty's Day celebration and the preview of a new product featured in the community.  Although it was a little rainy out, members showed up in force and had a great time.   REGAL Awards "Real Estates Greatest Achievers and Leaders"  
       On Saturday, February 26, 2005 the Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia proudly announced the16th Annual REGAL Award winners, honoring the best in the marketing and sales of new home construction. Over 600 local home-building professionals attended the black-tie affair, making this year's gala the largest we've ever held.

  SMC Annual Meeting (December, 2004)  
        The Sales & Marketing Council of Greater Columbia held it's Annual Meeting of the Membership on Thursday, December 9th at 9:00 a.m. at the Columbia Conference Center.  Over 150 SMC members and guests enjoyed breakfast and entertainment by comedian, Frank Hayes.  The 2005 SMC Board of Directors were elected and installed and the CSP participants were recognized for their achievement.  Thanks again to those of you who donated items and/or money for the Harvest Hope Food Drive- we collected over 275 lbs. of food and over $175!  We also collected over $400 during Happy Dollar Time to donate to St. Lawrence Place.  Special thanks to the 2004 SMC Board of Directors for a job well done in 2004!

  SMC Oyster Roast  
       The Sales & Marketing Council held its First Oyster Roast on November 4, 2004 at Pine Island. The event sold out very quickly and the attendees had a great time.  Thanks to our sponsors: Centex  Homes, CTX Mortgage and Beazer Homes.  Special thanks to the guys from Clark's Services for preparing and serving up the oysters and shrimp chowder!
